Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.

Key Responsibilities:

The Pilot Crew Scheduler position presents an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role within United’s fast paced operation. You will work closely supporting our pilots with their schedules, ensuring on-time flight departures throughout United’s worldwide network. If you are detail-oriented, enjoy problem solving and are looking for a nontraditional schedule this is the position for you. This opportunity is in-person at our Network Operations Center in Arlington Heights, IL. It’s a fast-paced operational position working different shifts 0600-1430, 1400-2230 and 2200-0630 as well as all days of the week including weekends and holidays. Reliable, punctual attendance is essential for this position.

  • Assign open flying to qualified flight crew members according to Federal Aviation Regulations, Pilot Contract and Company policies
  • Analyze pilot staffing, time off requests, assignments and trip trades
  • Apply cost effective strategies while adhering to all FAA and contract work rules.
  • Assist pilots with monthly schedule management, documenting absences, and performing transactions to ensure accurate crew pay, preservation of pilot activity records, and quality assurance (FAR compliance, flight time, qualification data, etc.)
  • Maintain proficiency in the application of Federal Aviation regulations, pilot contract rules and company policies
  • Provide 24/7 support to flight crew members

Qualifications What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years scheduling operations experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated track record of strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions
  • Perform with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and good judgment
  • Ability to manage stress in high-pressure situations
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years relevant crew scheduling experience
  • 1-2 years airline operational experience
